History

The city is located along the banks of the Crow and Mississippi Rivers between Hennepin and Wright Country.  Dayton is a small but growing community of about 5 thousand people.  It is located along the I-94 corridor and is a 20-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis. Add ten minutes if you are coming from downtown St. Paul.  The city was platted in 1885 and was named for its founder, Lyman Dayton. Through is efforts and wealth, his influence helped bring about the railroad into Minnesota and the development of Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad.

Dayton Bar& Grill  – The place has amazing hamburgers, great drinks and lively bartenders. Not a fancy place by any means but definitely gives you that homely feel.  They also have an excellent steak special with very good prices on drinks.
